OUR CARAVANS
We have three 3 bedroom mobile homes on our home site, Freshwater Fruit Farm.
Nestled amongst the trees in a very quiet and peaceful rural setting, just a couple of minutes from Freshwater town and Freshwater Bay.
Each is self catering, and comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay (including portable heaters for when the weather isn’t quite warm enough!)
Quiet and Safe:
Each mobile home has its own parking space next to it, but there is plenty of space nearby as well. We are a safe distance from Wilmingham Lane, so no traffic noise or danger to children.
Entertainment:
The only “on site entertainment” we can offer is the wildlife, no noisy bar or clubhouse. Consequently, we can reflect this in our more competitive prices. We do have a laundry room which is free to use however, where you can also find several posters and booklets to help identify some of the resident wildlife. There are also several DVDs, ranging from classic cartoons to films, 'just in case'.
Dogs:
Due to our wildlife policy, we do not encourage dogs to our site, however if the dog is well behaved and docile we can make exceptions (we have our own greedy retriever!) We do insist that any dogs are kept on a lead at all times whilst on site, and not left on their own in the mobile home as this can cause distress and damage. We also ask that you let me know you're planning to bring your dog with you when you make your booking.
On Site Facilities:
The mobile homes benefit from the use of a laundry room, exclusively for your use. There is no additional charge for this, we simply ask that you do not abuse it. We like to keep the laundry room stocked up with leaflets and information relating to the area, as well as an ironing board, iron and large sink for cleaning off your wellies and muddy boots (and a selection of DVDs - but please don't expect the latest releases, we're more into being outdoors than watching TV but sometimes when the weather isn't as nice as it can be, a family film is the perfect option!)
Nature at your doorstep:
If you love wildlife with the added drop of peace and quiet then you will LOVE us.
If you are thinking of a holiday on the Isle of Wight and would like a self catering holiday on a small, quiet, safe and friendly site, with just three clean, fully equipped mobile homes, then you may like to choose Freshwater Fruit Farm. As explained elsewhere on our website we have lots of wildlife, the preservation and improvement of habitat for them has been a priority for years now, and as a consequence we have quite a diversity of wildlife. (see our Green Policy)
CARAVAN LIFE..
The internal layout of each mobile home is more or less the same..
- There is a double bedroom consisting of one double bed, with dressing table and wardrobes*
- Two Twin Bedrooms
- Shower room
- Separate toilet
- Kitchen, complete with gas cooker, pots and pans, plates, mugs, cups and cutlery, fridge and microwave
- The lounge area has a table, and enough seating for six adults, and a flat screen t.v with dvd player.
The cooker is gas, as is the hot water system. There is a gas heater in the lounge area, with a portable electrical heater supplied to warm up bedrooms if needed!
All gas and water is included within the letting cost, but electricity is payable by you via a £1 coin meter. As most of the lighting benefits from ‘low energy’ bulbs, coupled in with the electricity meters set to standard domestic rates (we do not charge any extra fees, you pay simply for what you use) you won’t need bags of coins to feed the meter.
To get your holiday off to the best start, we also provide tea and milk in the caravans so you don’t have to hunt through boxes to have your first cuppa!
All of our caravans are tested at least yearly for safety, including carbon monoxide and gas levels by CORGI registered professionals.
*You will need to bring your own linen including tea-towels, beach towels and shower towels – each mobile home is supplied with duvets and pillows but not the covers or sheets.
